Welcome to the HEE-BERMIOK which is full of history, culture, traditions
historical places, religious places Mandirs, Gumpas and Yangrangsing.
The ethinic structure of population inhabiting in this constituency comprises of mainly the
Limboos, Chettris, Bahun, Sherpa, Tamang, Bhutia, Lepcha, Rai, Gurung, Manger, Kami Damai, Sarki, Sanyashi etc. who inherit
their own distinct reliogious and cultural heritage. Though, not much glamorous with the modern advancements, its antiquity and its
rech natural and cultural heritage are its beautiful assets. God created this beautiful valley of flowers at his leisure and the this hidden paradise of Hee-Bermiok
has been further blessed by Teyongsi Sirijunga (The Srijanga Incarnate).Here one can find all the taste of
the culture, traditions in one place.Hee Bermiok is full of ancient history and the religious mythologicals stories. A visit
to its place gives its visitors the pleasure of being with the age old traditions and cultures of the ethinic communities
inhabiting here in the one hand and the other hand the pleasure of its natural heritage rech with its flora & fauna.
Statue of Mahatma Sirijunga Teyongsi Yuma Smayo Manghim A beautiful Yuma Smayo Manghim, the temple where the believers of Yumo Samyo religion worship, stands exactly at the
place where, Teyongsi Srijanga had arrived from Nepal in 1740 A.D. and preached Yumo Samyo sermons in order to educate
and spiritualize his people. In front of the temple is a big stone where this great saint used to sit in elevation in
order to deliver sermons to his followers. This place is a little further away from Bermiok Bazar Mahatma Sirijunga Temple Shivalaya, Lower Bermiok Situated at Ratomatey village of Bermiok is a temple of Lord Shiva popularly known as
Shivalaya below which the Bermiok Legship road passes. It is an elevated place, its historicity not known.
About a hundred years ago, there used to be a small Shiva Temple. Its
complex was used as an abode of Sanskrit learning. Situated near the Shivalaya temple is the Sanskrit Pathsala.
There is a kachha road leading to it which is about 5Km from Bermiok Bazar. Devithan
Chawanna Bahini Devi - Devithan At Rungdoo Syaltar about half an hour's steep down ward walk from the Shivalaya is located one Devithan, popularly known as Chawanna Bahini Devi - Devithan". It is in a cliff side and the local people say that if milk is offered to the Devithan water springs automatically. Chandra Kumari Magarani Devithan A historic place to commemorate the memory of the Raja's sister who had disappered here after the kind was killed. Now the place is worshipped by Magars and the people of the neighbourhood. Kailashpati Gufa, Upper Berthang About a quarter of a kilometer east ward from Bermiok Bazar is a small village
called Bermiok 13th mile village. About ten minutes walk abobe Bermiok 13th mile situated Kailaspati Gufa, an ancient cave temple.
There is here from time immemorial an dpeople worship Lord Shiva here especially in the Shiva Ratri Day, when many devotees from
its neighbourhood an dfar flung villages come here and worship Lord Shiva with devotion. There are many legends about
this, very popular among which is that at times, as bull appears and roams about at the vicinity of this sacred cave. this is
supposedly believed to be Lord Shiva Himself roaming about his abode on his vehicle, the bull.
Alley Gufa / Niya Bhir About a Kilometer westward from Bermiok Bazar, and approximately a Km walk from the road upward,
there is a cliff known as Alley Gufa, where Lord Shiva is worshipped. This is a sacred cave temple where
devotees from far-flung places offer their pooja. A mela is organized here each Shivaratri day, when devotees
from neighbouring as well as far-flung places come and worship spreading the mixture of grain (sadbiu, palbiu)
around the sacred cave circumambulating it.
