A mountain biking trek of 6 Ft. width with gentle slope.
Span about 20Kms from Hee-Gaun to Barsey. Altitude ranges from 4,000Ft to 10,000Ft
Amping sites available enroute along with the sights of beautiful sceneries,
comprising with wild orchid, wild animals and rhododendron. Camping equipments &
mountain bikes available with Hee-Bermiok Tourism Dev. & Heritage Conservation Society.
EVEREST SINGALILA TREK - 8 Days
This trek covers the higher reaches of the barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary
in the Eastern Himalayas,which is famous for its flowers, and spectular mountain views of
Khangchendzonga and the Everest.The highlights of this trek start with camping in dense Oak
forest amidst the calls of barking deer and wild birds. This trials is rich in floral diversity
and especially in spring in Rhododendrons are in full bloom with their white, yellow, pink,and
crimson red bell shaped blossoms. In Barsey one passes through dense thickets of Rhododendrons
below the Tal mountain ridge laden with conifer forest of Silver fir and hemlock.
The trek winds its way through the source of two rivers, which originate from moist grassy
meadows. After Thulo Dhaap the trail climbs up to the Shingalila Ridge and from Phokety
one can experience the sunrise on Everset and Khangchendzonga the highest and
third highest peaks in the world.
SINGALILA DZONGRI TREK - 19 Days
For those intersted in a longer trek they can continue from Chewabhanjyang on Day 8
and join the Dzongri trek from there on after crossing the scared cave. One can also
return from Chonri on day 10 via Nambu and darap for a medium sized trek of 11 days. This treks covers both the Barsey Rhododendron
Santuary as well as the Hanchendzonga National Park
